While its roots date back to 1947, the Hospitality Association of South Carolina ( HASC) was founded in 1993 when the South Carolina Hotel & Motel Association and the South Carolina Restaurant Association united under the common umbrella of the Hospitality Association of South Carolina.

HASC is a statewide, non-partisan trade organization. Our mission is to promote, protect and educate the foodservice and lodging industries of the state and to ensure positive business growth for our members. HASC strives to represent the best interest of its members on small business issues, hospitality and tourism concerns and towards the protection of South Carolina's quality of life.

In January of 1996, the South Dakota Restaurant Association merged with the South Dakota Retailers Association. That merger resulted in the formation of the Hospitality Division of the South Dakota Retailers Association.

Nearly 800 restaurants, hotels, motels, resorts, campgrounds, bed and breakfasts, coffee shops, bars and tourist attractions are members of the SDRA Hospitality Division.

The Hawaii Restaurant Association was formed in 1947 under the name of the Oahu Dispensers Association. The name was changed to Hawaii Restaurant and Dispensers Association in January 1949 and in 1974 the name was changed to the Hawaii Restaurant Association.

The Hawaii Restaurant Association is a non-profit trade association dedicated to serving the needs of the restaurant and foodservice, hospitality and tourism industries in the state of Hawaii. Together with the National Restaurant Association and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation we work to represent, educate and promote this industry that is a cornerstone of the Hawaii economy…an industry with over 3,500 locations directly employing over 82,000 dedicated people.
